The JEXCAR Atom Blue Giants ChilliBowl weekend was a huge success, starting off with a win on Friday night over the Chilliwack Atom White team. Sunday they had a win over the Mission Niners, but fell to Cloverdale and Abby Black.

Behind the outstanding Offensive line play by Will Stewart, Rylan Janssen, Jordan Armstrong and Tyce Underwood, QB’s Liam Weisbrod and Ryden Tatler had all day to get plays off. RB’s Cody Hagel and Kenna Friesen both broke free for touch downs, while Amara Sesay ran for huge gains behind the blocking of Oliver Pearce and Logan Rainke.

On Defence, Annalia Alton, Landon Keddy and Chase Christensen were unstoppable at DE making huge tackles in the back field. Auron Andersen was a force at corner and Evan Fawcett was our anchor on D all weekend.

The Atom Blue Giants are looking forward to a great season

In a game where the Giants couldn't get the offence going as well as they wanted, the Offensive Line, anchored by Nikolas "Burger" van Ruitenburg and Jaden Heibner was stellar all game. The offence started rolling in the second half with QB Carter Dallas and their passing game, but even with completions to Teagan White and fantastic blocks by Fullback Jace Chappell, they couldn't punch one in.

On defence, Linebacker Pierson Capstick was stuffing the middle run game, and Corner Gavin Parks was making touchdown saving tackles on the edge. Defensive Tackles Mackenzie Boyd and Kaiden Dyer were causing havoc in the Falcons backfield all game as well.

Next Week's game is against the Meadow Ridge Knights on Saturday at 1:30pm, in Maple Ridge.

The Southview Clearing and Access Atom White Giants played host Saturday to the White Knights of Ridge Meadows, losing 34-0 in what proved to be a very physical game.

The game started with a long offensive drive because of tremendous blocking by Cole Kermode, Benjamin McKay and IHOP Player of the game Judah Lueck, as well as a big throw from Alex Cayer to Ridley Mastin, but the Giants just weren't able to get in the end zone. On their first defensive play, the Atom White Team was able to strip and recover the ball from the Knights thanks to heads up play by Kruz Luis to give themselves another chance to score.

Unfortunately they were just unable to cross the goal line despite great running by Cole Kermode and the other Giants Backs. From there the Knights were able to put up 34 unanswered points, although Giants defenders including Jackson Gamboa, Maguire Brown and Jacob Stoneson put up a strong fight against a very tough squad.

The Southview Clearing and Access Atom White Giants look forward to a big game this coming Saturday, 12pm at Townsend Park, against the Atom Red Giants.

It what turned into a back and forth battle between 2 high powered offenses, the Giants came to play and opened the scoring on the 2nd play of the game. The teams traded TD’s all night with the Giants scoring coming from all sides of the ball. Wide Receiver Lawson Dades found the end zone, Line backer Caleb Friesen added to the scoring with a pick six, and Special teams added another TD with a huge kickoff return.

With great 2nd effort, Defensive Tackle Michael Schur was able to get into the back field and prevent some big gains.
