The Bantam Giants Elite headed in to the first round of the VCFL Playoffs on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Townsend Field taking on their heated rival, the Meadow Ridge Knights.  The Giants Elite helped their dad's (and all other family members of course) celebrate Fathers Day  with a hard fought 28-21 victory.  


The Giants Elite stalwart Defense continued it's superb play on the season and would never let the high powered Knights offence get rolling.  Cornerback Kayleb Anhorn has an exceptional day with many solo tackles and an interception. Tyson Orregaard and Logan Boychuck patrolled the middle of the field with an unmatched ferocity and intensity that sent Knight players smashing to the ground every time they dared enter their zone.  Defensive player of the game Austin Wegener was an unstoppable force of nature on the day making many backfield tackles and forcing the play all game.  The front three of Travis Richley, Tyler Kelly and Evan Butler exerted their dominance all day with Kelly having a key fumble recovery and Butler putting the nail in the Knights coffin with a thundering sack for a safety to put the game out of reach!


Running was the word of the day for the Elite Giants on Offence as they amassed over 400 yards on the ground.  Gage O'Neill got the day started with a 50 yard scamper on the first play from scrimmage.  Offensive player of the game Brayden Struiksma was unstoppable all day rushing for nearly 200 yards and touchdown.  Vincent Branauer and Tyson Orregaard also added touchdowns on the day.  They Offensive line did all the heavy lifting to make the holes for the running backs to have such a successful day.  Logan Head, Aiden Parks,  Darien Friesen and Kade Kelly moved mountains on the day to keep the Giants Quarterbacks and Running Backs safe.


The Bantam Giants Elite will be playing for the Championship this Sunday against the mighty North Langley Bears in Mission at the Mission Sports Park.  Kickoff is 12:00.  Come out and cheer on your Giants in what is sure to be an exciting final.  If you can't make it out be sure to check it out live streaming on Youtube

may 19 vs north surrey


The Chilliwack Bantam Giants Elite finished up their 3 game home stand in fine fashion on Sunday afternoon against the visiting North Surrey Tigers.  After a bit of a slow start, the Big Blue machine started to roll and never looked back, cruising to a 40-12 victory.


Balance and consistency have been the Giants calling card all season and the same held true on Sunday.  6 different players found the end zone on the day with the offence scoring 3, the defense with 2 and 1 special teams chipping in 1 of their own.


On Offence, the running game continued to impress.  This was made possible by the outstanding line play of Darien Friesen, Kalen Konrad and Tyler Begin who were outmatched by the massive North Surrey linemen but used their technique and skill to win the battle of the trenches.   Running backs Austin Wegener, Brayden Struiksma, and Logan Tocher all found the end zone on the day with spectacular and powerful runs.  These runs were made possible by some excellent downfield blocking by wide receivers Andrew Fawcett and Christian Scott.  


Dayton Roger led the powerhouse Defense on the day with 9 tackles (3 for a loss) as the Elite Giants exerted their will on the much larger Tigers.  The Giants welcomed back Tyler Kelly from injury and he and Evan Butler dominated the line of scrimmage.  Gage O'Neill and Vincent Branauer crushed all Tigers that attempted to run up the middle.  O'Neill also added a 65 yard kick of return on the day.  The defensive backs patrolled the deep part of the field with quiet efficiency that put two touchdowns on board with an interception returned for a touchdown by Tyson Orregaard and fumble recovery touchdown for Tyson Kelly.  Braeden MacDonald, Nick Beck and Brayden Struiksma all added interceptions to the tally sheet.  


The Elite Giants head in to a bye week and will be cheering on their teammates Lucas Feaver, Braeden MacDonald , Tyler Bergin and Brayden Struiksma who will be participating in a Team BC vs Team Alberta showcase in Kelowna on Saturday.  


The Elite Giants will play their final game of the regular season On June 2nd at McLeod Stadium in Langley as they take on the league leading North Langley Bears.  Kickoff is 11:15

may 12 vs meadow ridge


Week 6 of the Chilliwack Giants Bantam squad's season, and they had another great team game.  With the final score 35-13, the Giants rolled over the visiting Meadow Ridge Knights for the second time this season for a strangle hold on second place overall in the division.


On offence, the Giants had 15 different people handle the ball with either runs or receptions for over 390 total yards.  The QB trio of Nick Beck, Lucas Feaver and Logan Head threw for over 150 yards collectively, to 7 different receivers for 3 TD's. 


Tyson Kelly had 2, and Braeden MacDonald had 1.  Tyson Orregaard added 4 receptions for first downs to keep the Giants offence going.  Tailbacks Billy Hunter and Brayden Struiksma set the tone for the running game with over 80 yards each on the ground, and a TD each, with Vincent Branauer working the power run game.


Defense was equally as strong with fumble recoveries by Kade Kelly, Dayton Roger, and Evan Butler, as well as an interception by Braeden MacDonald.  These turnovers, along with phenomenal tackling from Gage O'Neill and Logan Tocher helped the Giants control the flow of the game.  The Giants had 10 tackles for a loss on the day, and their secondary was a force to reckon with.  It was the discipline of the defensive line that impressed the Coaches the most, with DE Travis Richley leading his team to a fantastic win.

may 3 vs north langley


The Bantam Giants Elite rolled into Exhibition Field on Friday night to take on the division leading North Langley Bears in a battle for first place.  It was a very entertaining game that showcased all aspects of play (Offence, Defense and Special Teams).  The Giants Elite led for the majority of the game but an impressive drive by the Bears led to a late score to put them up by 3 with 3 minutes left to play.  There was no quitting in these Giants however and they proceeded to drive the length of the field only to watch the game tying field goal sail just wide, resulting in a 25-22 Bears victory.  


Braeden MacDonald got the Giants on the score sheet first with an electrifying 105 yard interception for a touchdown from his cornerback position.  The defense continued it's stellar play on the year, punishing the Bears offence at every opportunity.  Kade Kelly got called back to the D line as an emergency substitution and had an outstanding day at nose tackle.  Dayton Roger and Gage O'Neill shut down all of the Bears runs up the middle.  Billy Hunter and Tyson Orregaard patrolled the outside of the field and stymied all chances of outside run success. 


Tyson Kelly had an incredibly impressive day.  No only did he have 5 receptions for over 80 yards but he kicked 3 field goals whenever the offense was stalled by the mighty Bears defense.  Quarterbacks Lucas Feaver, Logan Head and Nick Beck all had extraordinary days slinging the ball all over the field against a loaded Bears secondary.   Tyler Bergin, Travis Richley and Darien Friesen had superb days on the Injury riddled offensive line.  Billy Hunter ran the ball with passion and drive and managed to scamper in for a beautiful 17 yard run.


The Giants Elite will continue their home-stand against the high flying Meadow Ridge Knights next Sunday at Exhibition Stadium.  Kickoff is 1 PM

April 28 VS north surrey


The Chilliwack Bantam Giants Elite hit the road again on Sunday morning, travelling to Bear Creek Park in Surrey to take on the powerhouse North Surrey Tigers. 


After a highly contested back and forth match, the Elite Giants came out on top of a 23-14 final score.  

The stalwart Giants defense put on another impressive showing, pounding the Tigers at every turn.  The Front Line of Tyler Kelly, Evan Butler,Travis Richley and Kalen Konrad dominated the Tigers line through pure will and force.  Logan Tocher had an outstanding day patrolling the outside from his corner position with several brute force tackles and adding two interceptions to the stat sheet. Nick Beck also had a spectacular interception and some impressive punt returns from his free safety spot.  Gage O'Neill's bone rattling hits from his middle linebacker position set the tone for the day that the Giants were here to play!


The Giants offence continued to roll and came up big at key points in the game.  Tail Backs Brayden Struiksma and Billy Hunter both found the end zone on the day with ankle breaking runs, darting through the Tigers defense.  Full Backs Vincent Branauer and Austin Wegener led the way on both those TD's with crushing blocks springing the shifty tailbacks free.  The Offensive line was led by Tyler Bergin, Dayton Roger and Kade Kelly.  Their calm leadership and exceptional play kept the Giants on track all day.  Quarterback Travis Richley added to his season's touchdown total with a beautiful pass to wide receiver Tyson Kelly who hauled in the laser-like pass in heavy traffic.  Braeden Macdonad and Tyson Orregaard also hauled in passes on the day.  Tyson Kelly closed out the scoring with a 17 yard field goal to put the game out of reach in the last few minutes of the game.


The Giants Elite are looking forward to being home this week under the bright lights of Exhibition Field as they take on the division leading North Langley Bears in a battle for first place.  See you all this Friday!  Kickoff is at 6 PM.

April 21 VS meadow ridge


The Chilliwack Bantam Giants Elite rolled in to Meadow Ridge for an early Sunday morning tilt. After falling behind early to the high flying Knights, the Giants stormed back to take the game 23-19.

The Knights we able to stifle the Giants early in the game on offence but the Giants perseverance paid off as they started to move the ball well late in the first half and carried it in to the second half. Tail-Back Billy Hunter had and outstanding day finding the end-zone 3 times and putting together some electrifying runs. The running load was also complimented by Brayden Struiksma and Vincent Branauer who both had over 60 yards rushing each. The quarterback duo of Lucas Feaver and Logan Head were on point all day find receivers all over the field with Tyson Orregaard adding two spectacular catches to his impressive resume. The Line controlled the game and set the tone with their hard nosed play. Cade Kelly, Dayton Roger and Darien Friesen were all standouts on the day.

The Giants fell behind early but once the defense figured out the solution the to stopping the explosive Knights offence, they controlled the game the rest of the day! Gage O'Niell and Austin Wegener led the way with crushing hits that helped break the Knights spirit. The front three of Travis Richley, Tyler Kelly and Evan Butler continued their dominant play on the season, adding a safety and a fumble recovery to their ever growing stat line for the season. Logan Tocher and Braeden Macdonald did a fantastic job from their corner positions, shutting down the passing game and stopping all the outside runs.

The Bantam Giants Elite are on the road this week, travelling to Bear Creek Park to take on North Surrey. Kickoff is 12PM Sunday.



The Chilliwack Bantam Giants Elite took to the Exhibition Field on Sunday for their first home game of the season against the formidable North Surrey Tigers.  After a back and forth start to the game, the Giants began to roll and ended up dismantling the Tigers in a 33-0 victory.  


The Defense had an outstanding day in shutting out the high powered Tigers offence.  Defensive MVP Austin Wegener led the way, making tackles all over the field and adding 3 QB sacks to his total.  Billy Hunter, Logan Tocher, Jeremy Mussell and Tyson Kelly added to sack total on the day.  The front three of Travis Richley, Tyler Kelly and Evan Butler dominated the Tigers line and forced the play all game long.  As a whole, the Defense ended up holding Tigers to negative yards on the day.


The Giants Offence was a bit slow out of the gate but once they started to roll they were all the Tigers could handle.  Quarterback Logan Head was 75% passing on the day with 3 touchdowns thrown.  Two of those touchdowns were thrown to slotback Braeden Macdonald with the final one going to wide receiver Tyson Orregaard.  The smashing running game was able to set the tone for the day with huge play on the line from Kade Kelly, Tyler Bergin, Darien Friesen and Dayton Roger being the cornerstones.  The running back that benefited the most from the outstanding line work was Gage O'Neill, who scored 2 pounding touchdowns in which he would not be denied.  Vincent Branauer and Brayden Struiksma had fantastic days running the ball as well.


The Giants Elite are on the road next Sunday to take on the powerhouse Meadow Ridge Knights.  Kickoff 9 AM.
