WEEK 7 - MEADOWRIDGE
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants travelled to Meadow Ridge on Saturday to take on the always tough Knights team. With their playoff hopes hanging in the balance, the Giants came up big with a 25-6 victory.
The Offence focused on the ground and pound game for the day and was very successful. The O Line stood tall and strong making holes and protecting the runners and quarterbacks. Ayden Barwich, Jake Pronick and Malakai Hakansson were the standouts for the big men. Their hard work led to two 100 yard rushers for the day in Caleb Friesen and Cody Hagel. Outstanding blocks were thrown by wideouts Evan Fawcett and Ryden Tatler to spring the backfield on 3 of their touchdowns. Slotback Kenna Friesen got the running game started with an incredibly athletic touchdown on a jet sweep to get the scoring started for the Giants.
The Defence showed up to play on Saturday, setting the tone with their hardnosed bruising style. Linebackers Amara Sesay, Denver Adam and Wyatt Carstensen flowed everywhere on the field making one huge hit after another. Captian, Annalia Alton, led the charge on the D Line with great assists from Colin Mansfield, Joe Smith and Theraz Kelly that had 6 sacks on the day and over 10 tackles for a loss. Corners Cody Hagel and Ben Graff with help over the top from Safety Caleb Friesen did a great job of controlling the Knights high powered air attack.
The Blue Giants will enter their bye week this week and are looking forward to a bit a time to rest and recover before taking on the division leading Abbotsford Black Falcons on Oct 26 with a kickoff at 11:45 at Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford.
WEEK 6 - PEEWEE WHITE

The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants played their final home game of the season on Saturday at Townsend Field. They battled to the final whistle with their cross town brothers and sisters on the White Giants. After a back and forth affair the Blue Giants claimed a 21-6 victory in a highly entertaining game.
The Defence had an outstanding day and set the tone for the Blue Giants with lots of big touchdown saving plays. They amassed 5 sacks, 1 interception, a Safety and a fumble recovery on the stat sheet. The D Line was led by IHOP player of the game Joe Smith from the nose tackle position with great assistance from Tim Bumby and Jake Pronick. Halfbacks Ryden Tatler and Kenna Friesen had several great hits each. Colin Mansfield, Annalia Alton, Malakai Hakansson and Tim Bumby were in the backfield all day.
Caleb Friesen had another great day running the ball putting together another 100 yard rushing game and finding the end zone multiple times. Cody Hagel, Wyatt Carstensen and Denver Adam all carried the ball with power and speed all game. Quarterback Rylan Parks showed his precision passing skills throughout the contest. Slotback Andre Barbon made a spectacular high point catch and run. Wide receiver Liam Weisbrod ran great routes and made a fantastic catch. Center Wyatt Tutty had a great day snapping the ball with Ayden Barwich and Austin MacDonald securing the O Line with him.
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants are on the road this weekend taking on the always tough Meadow Ridge Knights. The game is at Samuel Robertson School with an 11:45 Kickoff
WEEK 5 - NORTH LANGLEY
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants shined brightly under the lights of Townsend Park on Friday night. They played the outstanding North Langley Bears in a back and forth match, finally prevailing 18-14 at the final whistle.
The Offensive Line was tasked with holding back the much larger and very aggressive Bears Defence and they were up for the task. Center, Wyatt Tutty and guards Malakai Hakansson and Austin MacDonald dominated the inside with tackles Annalia Alton and Ayden Barwich sealing the outside. This allowed the Giants to have a very successful day on the ground with over 200 yards rushing. Running backs Caleb Friesen and Denver Adam shouldered a heavy load of the ground and pound offence with Friesen finding the end zone 3 times on spectacular runs.
The Defence had their work cut out for them against the strong Bear ground game but they were up for the task. Theraz Kelly and Will Stewart were like a couple of wrecking balls from their D tackle positions making several bone crushing hits each. Half Backs Kenna Friesen and Ryden Tatler shut down all attempts to run to the outside. Corners Cody Hagel and Elijah Reid stopped all pass attempts that the Bears made. Linebackers Amara Sesay and Wyatt Carstensen shut down the middle of the field with Safeties Ben Graff and Caleb Friesen controlling the deepest parts of the field.
Kicker Evan Fawcett and Gunner Lawson Dades combined for two onside kicks for the Giants.
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants are looking forward to their final home game of the season this Saturday against their crosstown Brothers and Sisters on the White Giants team. This should be a highly spirited match that everyone can enjoy. Kickoff is 11:45 at Townsend Field. See you there
WEEK 4 - MISSION
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants took their show on the road this weekend, travelling to Mission Athletic Park to take on the always tough 9’ers. After scoring early, the Giants started to roll and never looked back. When the dust settled at the end of the game the final score was Giants 36 and 9’ers 0
Slotback, Kenna Friesen, got the game started with an electrifying 55 yard scamper for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage. Running backs Denver Adam and Wyatt Carstensen had great runs of their own, both finding the end zone on explosive runs in the first half. Slotback Andre Barbon was a force with his lead blocking and had a spectacular catch and run leaving a trail of 9’ers in his wake. Wide receiver Rylan Parks finished off the scoring on the day with a great catch on a 30 yard touchdown pass. The Offensive line was anchored by center Wyatt Tutty, who had great game getting the play started. Austin MacDonald, Jake Pronick and Ayden Barwich did a great job making holes and protecting the quarterback.
Caleb Friesen led the defence to their first shutout of the season. He had two interceptions that he took back for touchdowns and added 8 tackles to his stat sheet. Cousins Liam and Dustin Weisbrod, patrolled the outside from their corner positions and stopped all attempts at outside runs and passes. Linebackers Amara Sarsay and Ryden Tatler crushed all 9’ers that tried to run up the middle. The Defensive line exerted their dominance and was in the backfield at will. Malakai Hackansson, Colin Mansfield and Lincoln Slykhuis were the biggest contributors on the inside. Lawson Dades had the Hit of the Game from his linebacker position.
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants are hoping to keep the winning streak going this Friday Night, under the bright lights of Townsend Field against the North Langley Bears. Kickoff is 7:30.

WEEK 3 - ABBOTSFORD WHITE
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants hosted the Abbotsford White Falcons on Saturday at Townsend Field. The Blue Giants put on a great show, leading for the majority of the day, but ended up on the wrong side of the score at the end of the game 18-15.
Annalia Alton led the Defence throughout the game with 5 solo tackles an showed incredible effort on every play. Kenna Friesen and Ben Graff had outstanding days from their halfback and cornerback positions, adding many spectacular plays to their resumes. Jake Pronick and Tim Bumby were run stopping machines on the defensive line. Team captain Denver Adam lead by example from his linebacker position, attacking the offence on every play and adding an interception
The Offence worked hard for every yard they gained. Caleb Friesen found the end zone twice, both on spectacular ankle breaking runs. Wyatt Tutty, Malakai Hackansson and Austin MacDonald were a force on the O-line. Quarterback Rylan Parks led the team with his calm and confident demeanor. Evan Fawcett had a great game kicking the ball when required.
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants will take their show on the road this weekend, taking on the Mission 9’ers in Mission. Kickoff is 10 Saturday.
WEEK 2 - ABBOTSFORD BLACK
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants had their home opener on Saturday at Townsend Field. The Giants hosted the Abbotsford Black Falcons. After a back and forth affair that saw the lead change several times, the Blue Giants eventually fell to the Falcons 44-20.
Caleb Friesen started the day off with a bang, taking the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown. It was the first of two kick returns he took to the house on the day. He also added a rushing touchdown to his total. Quarterback Rylan Parks was 3 for 4 passing on day with completions to Ben Graff, Evan Fawcett and Dustin Weisbrod. Cody Hagel and Wyatt Carstensen had very productive games running the ball also. The Offensive Line was anchored by Jake Pronick, Austin MacDonald and Lincoln Slykhuis who held back the much larger Falcons on every play. Colin Mansfield chipped in a two point convert kick with ease.
The Defence showed it’s meddle all game long, making the Falcons fight for every inch. Linebacker Denver Adam was a standout with 8 solo tackles with 5 of those being for a loss. Lawson Dades patrolled the other side of the field with aggression and determination. Defensive Ends Analia Alton and Andre Barbon were quick off the ball and in the Falcons backfield on almost every play. Joe Smith, William Stewart and Theraz Kelly controlled the line of scrimmage and made several earth shaking tackles.
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants will get another home game this weekend at Townsend Field as they take on the other Abbotsford team, The White Falcons. Kickoff is 11:45. See you there!
WEEK 1 - N.LANGLEY
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants kicked off the 2019 season at McLoud Stadium in Langley on Saturday against the North Langley Bears. After a back and forth battle the Giants fell in a heartbreaker 21-16.
The Giants Defence worked incredibly hard on the day, tallying 8 tackles for a loss on the day and forcing 2 fumbles. Halfbacks Kenna Friesen and Evan Fawcett both recovered fumbles. Theraz Kelly was an unstoppable force at nose tackle with Ayden Barwich and Jake Pronick working along side him to stop all the inside runs. Line backers Wyatt Carstensen and Amara Sesay patrolled the middle of the field with a vengeance, hitting any Bear that came their way. Defensive End Annalia Alton was a standout all day.
Quarterbacks Rylan Parks and Malakai Hakansson both had great days controlling the Giants Offence. Their calm demeanors, grit and determination shined through and helped lead their teammates. Tailbacks Caleb Friesen and Cody Hagel amassed 175 yards on the ground with Friesen finding the end zone twice. Their great day on the ground was made possible by the great work from offensive linemen Austin MacDonald, Wyatt Tutty and Andre Barbon. Colin Mansfield calmly chipped in 2 PAT kicks on Saturday to round out the scoring.
The Pee Wee Blue Giants next game will be their home opener is this Saturday, September 7th, with a 12 PM kickoff against the Abbotsford Black Falcons at the friendly confines of Townsend Park.
SUN GOD TOURNAMENT - Aug 18
The Jexcar Pee Wee Blue Giants travelled to South Delta on the weekend to participate in the Sun God Tournament. The Blue Giants used this preseason event to help hone their skills as they prepare for what is going to be an exciting season for them. The Blue Giants went 1-1 on the day in two very closely contested matches and that was good enough for a third place finish.
Caleb Friesen, Wyatt Carstensen and Elijah Reid all found the end zone on the day as the offence really started to come together on the weekend.
The defence was outstanding on the day with superb play from Denver Adam and Cody Hagel leading the charge.
The Blue Giants are going to take this weekend off in preparation for opening day on the Labour Day long weekend!
CHILLIBOWL - AUG 10
The Jexcar Peewee Blue Giants played 4 exciting, back and forth games and finished the day with 1-1-2 record which was good enough for 5th place in their division.
Caleb Friesen had an outstanding day on both sides of the ball. Rylan Parks showed his leadership and strong arm from the QB position. Kenna Friesen had an incredibly athletic interception.
Newcomers Ayden Barwich, Wyatt Tutty and Jake Pronick all showed that their hard work in practice was worth it as they did great in their first ever live action. IHOP player of the day Colin Mansfield shone in any position he played.
