I have been a coach with the Chilliwack Giants for 6 years.  I enjoy being a part of young athletes doing great things and enjoying sports.  I truly believe sports skills are life skills.  We have been Seattle Seahawks fans in our family for generations.  For the last 6 years I have enjoyed working with the Chilliwack Giants flag program as well as Atom level tackle.  I have lived in Chilliwack for the last 10 years with my wife Amber, daughter Mackenzie and son Lincoln.

WEEK 7 - MISSION

The giants hosted a very tough Mission Niners team this past Saturday, and were fortunate to come out with a 30-6 Win.

TDs were scored off running plays, Two by Ridley Mastin, one by Isaiah Tolmie and one TD by Corbin Holdridge. Holdridge also kicked two extra points with the other two extra points ran in by RB Mastin.

Big time blocks paved the way all day by linemen Jacob Stoneson, Myles Watkiss and Center Evan Perkull, as well as downfield pushes by back Cole Kermode.

On Defence play stopping tackles were made all day by corner Austin Bennett and end Aaden McAlary. The Giants defense also knocked the ball loose many times with one recovery by LB Rylan Janke.

WEEK 5 - ABBOTSFORD WHITE

The Southview Clearing and Access PeeWee White Giants visited the Abbotsford Falcons this past Saturday, unfortunately coming up short, losing 24-6.

The defence started off well with big play stopping tackles by end Thales Chappell and Safety Myles Mucha, and an interception by Ridley Mastin, but just could not keep the Falcons out of the end zone.

On offence the lone score was a run in by Corbin Holdridge after a score by Cole Kermode was called back. Also big run plays by fullback Ben Mckay gained yards but just weren’t enough for more points.

WEEK 4 - ABBOTSFORD BLACK

Southview Clearing and Access PeeWee White Giants drop one to the visiting Abbotsford Falcons this past Saturday 36-0. The score definitely was not indicative of the efforts of the Giants. Tremendous tackling by Linebackers Rylan Janke, Cole Kermode and Corbin Holdridge, as well as excellent pass coverage by DBs Austin Bennett and Myles Mucha.

On offence QB Lincoln Boyd was 3 of 4 with passes caught by Ridley Mastin and Leif Skinner. Big runs by full back Ben McKay and Drake Rae, behind blocking of Brandon Davies and Evan Thiessen, but just couldn’t reach the end zone

WEEK 3 - MEADOWRIDGE KNIGHTS

The Southview Clearing and Access PeeWee White Giants hosted the Knights of Meadow Ridge for a Friday Night Lights game this past weekend. The knights came out on top 28-0 despite great offensive effort from the Giants including strong runs by backs Rylan Janke, Drake Rae and Reid Olson.

Throughout the game there was plenty of good defensive play as well including two sacks by D End Aaden McAlary, and plenary of big hits by Even “Moose” Tiessen and Thales Chappell. The white Giants look forward to hosting the Abbotsford Falcons this coming Saturday at Townsend Park.

WEEK 2 - MISSION NINERS

After a great Bye week last weekend, your Southview Clearing and Access Peewee White Giants travelled to Mission Sports Park to take on the Mission Niners and emerged victorious, 27-6.

The game started with a bang for the Giants. On the very first play from scrimmage, with some very good blocks from Judah Lueck, Rylan Janke, and Pierce Newbery, Wingback Isaiah Tolmie took the ball 77 yards for a touchdown to open the scoring.

After the kickoff, the formidable Giants Defence got to come on the field. The D smothered the Mission Offence virtually the whole game, with many different players getting involved. Notable tackles from Linebackers Jiovanni St. Germain, Corbin Holdridge, Cole Kermode, and Drake Rae helped to stop drives, and Defensive Linemen Liam Sterling, Ben McKay, Brandon Davies and James Elliott wreaked havoc in the backfield, including 2 sacks by Ben Mckay.

To round out the first half, Touchdowns were scored by Rookie Receiver Austin Bennett on a 62 yard rush, and a 57 yarder by Running Back Ridley Mastin, with Extra Points run in by Mastin and Corbin Holdridge. Perfect snaps all day by center Evan Perkull.

The second half was more of the same on defence, with excellent play by Myles Mucha Ashton Hislop, and Ryder Ledoux  which kept Mission from scoring through the third quarter.

In the 4th Quarter, Mastin added another long touchdown run, and scored the extra point as well to put the Giants up 27-0.

It took the Niners until the very last play of the game to score, punching it in from the 1 on a QB sneak.

All in all, it was a great start to the season for the Southview Peewee White Giants!

They are looking forward to hosting the Meadow Ridge Knights at the first Friday Night Lights game of the season, on Sept 13 at 7:30pm. We hope to see you there
