2017 WINTER TRAINING

Giants Winter Training for Atom (2008 & 2009)

When? Wednesday's, January 25 - March 1, 6pm-7:30pm

Where? Evergreen Hall, 9291 Corbould Street

How Much? $30 (total for all 6 sessions)

What will you need? Desire to compete, running shoes, shorts/trackpants/hoody, and lots of water!!!

 

What is it? A fitness program designed to increase speed, agility, and strength, while focusing on football specific movements and drills.  Evaluations at the beginning and end of the program will show the athletes their respective progress, and homework will be assigned throughout the week to ensure the athletes are taking their health and fitness seriously.

 

How do I sign up? Contact Coach Colin Boyd directly by emailing him at colin.boyd@investorsgroup.com with your child's name and date of birth, and show up on January 25th with $30 cash.  All funds will go to facility & equipment costs, as well as admin costs of the program.

 

***Only the first 25 athletes will secure a spot for now, until we can secure additional coaches***

Giants Winter Training for PW & JB (2004-2007)

When? Monday's, January 9 - March 6, 6:30pm-8:30pm (8 indoors, and 1 field trip)

Where? Chilliwack Heritage Park, 44140 Luckakuck Way

How Much? $50 (total for all 9 sessions)

What will you need? Desire to compete, running shoes, shorts/trackpants/hoody, and lots of water!!!

 

What is it? A fitness program designed to increase speed, agility, and strength, while focusing on football specific movements and drills.  Evaluations at the beginning and end of the program will show the athletes their respective progress, and homework will be assigned throughout the week to ensure the athletes are taking their health and fitness seriously.

How do I sign up? Contact Coach Derek Wegener directly by texting him at 604-798-3624 your child's name and date of birth, and show up on January 9th with $50 cash.  All funds will go to facility & equipment costs, as well as admin costs of the program.

When? Monday's, January 16 - March 6, 6:00-8:00pm

Where? Evergreen Hall, 9291 Corbould Street

How Much? $30 (total for all 8 sessions)

What will you need? Desire to compete, running shoes, shorts/track pants/hoody, and lots of water!!!

 

What is it? A fitness program designed to increase speed, agility, and strength, while focusing on football specific movements and drills.  Evaluations at the beginning and end of the program will show the athletes their respective progress, and homework will be assigned throughout the week to ensure the athletes are taking their health and fitness seriously.

Bantam & Midget Off Season Strength & Conditioning (1999-2003)

When? Tuesday 7:30pm-9:30pm & Thursday 7:30pm-9:30pm, as well as Saturday 1pm-3pm (flexible)

Dates? Tuesday, January 17 - Saturday, April 8

 

Cost? $150 (for all 12 weeks) & $35 per month for Iron House Membership

 

Where? Iron House, 45920 Rowat Avenue, as well as on Field for final 6 weeks

 

What is it? A 12 Week program, with the below noted Phases from Coach Todhunter, to increase strength, speed, and agility, while focusing on Football specific workouts.  This program is designed specifically for Bantam and Midget aged athletes because of the introduction of weight training.

Phase 1 : Foundational 

In this phase we will be focusing on developing a strong foundation for future phases. This phase will consist of neural adaptation and simple techniques. We will be learning proper lifting techniques and start developing the basic needs required for progression and more complex movements

 

Phase 2 : Strength and movement efficiency

This phase will focus on Hypertrophy and Strength gains as well as introducing movement patterns and rapid excitation. In this phase we will be focusing on proper loading techniques as well as fast feet and introduce an explosive component to our conditioning as well

 

Phase 3:  Power and Lactate Threshold

This phase will be the most intense. We will be working from strength and movement and introducing explosive power and movement patterns we will see in game situations. This phase will also focus on developing our Anaerobic Threshold to help with game performance and recovery time
